![]() However, setting your bass up for and playing in Drop C# is not as simple as tuning down your bass. ![]() Thus, it has become increasingly more popular through the years, especially in sub-genres of metal and rock. ![]() Also, bands that give Drop C sharp a try usually end up sticking with the tuning. While often overshadowed by Drop D, Drop C# holds many advantages over it. In the world of alternate bass tuning, I thus like to think of it as a jack of all trades. Weird.Drop C#, also known as Drop Db, is a bass tuning with a lot of versatility. Any chance you've been able to try a different cable? Only think I can think of is it's defective somehow and only affecting lower notes. ![]() Never had any issue like you describe or even hear of anyone else have that issue. I don't have these problems with the guitar tracks (tested on a beauty of a Gibby SG and a chinese telefaker) and the ones that took an active interest in my issues are just as perplexed as I am. the game just worked for them from day one. Now, I have added some of the best 'rocksmith bass' users from the youtubes and interwebs and unfortunately they all have one thing in common. It sounds and feels horrible, I tell you !!! (palm muting goes completely undetected in this game, you can do it or not, the note will still count regardless) but IN MY CASE (i have checked others online where it works fine) as soon as I hit that open D it immediately muffles the audio to a point where ANYTHING I play afterwards sounds incredibly low and homogenized UNLESS I play completely staccato, stop-muting after. It starts with a# (A.s.) followed by an open D into an F (still on D) and back to a#. Here is my problem, let's take a simple song intro like No Doubt's "Spiderwebs" as an example. For high gain tones or anything with too much chorus I have to go into the tone designer, create the tone and then use that tone in the calibration panel before entering the songs, otherwise once I start the actual song all hell breaks loose.Īs far as setups go I have tried so many different combinations on multiple instruments to get the game to work better, I even took 2 basses down to factory specs and started from there, testing and tweaking within the game and outside of it (system level) with very little luck. Yep, I have to calibrate constantly since tones COMPLETELY change the way notes are picked up. I assume you also calibrate (you didn't mention it) so your bass signal level is high enough for the game? I actually find bass detection is easier as you are typically playing just one note rather than chords so you don't have as many issues with wrong notes ringing out or missing/muflling some notes of the full chord. I've never heard of anyone not being able to get a bass to work after making sure eveything is working correctly as you describe. Originally posted by thejohnnewton:Hi Bean, I have spent a VERY long time trying to get this game to work right with various basses (these issues don't happen to me while using the guitar tracks) and I still use it for the tone designer (/drool) and session modes but playing the songs has become pointless when the simple matter of a realtone used in the song renders my whole lower register obsolete If you have already done this and the issue is still persisting then we are on the same boat :( if you are unsure or don't know how to setup a bass take it to an E X P E R I E N C E D musician/luthier and asked them to TEACH YOU how to do it while they do it for you. Check EVERYTHING, action, intonation, relief, pickup height and even nut height. or if you have two basses, set one up for drop/low tunings. Make sure that everything is setup properly on your bass, you may have to raise your action a little bit to accomodate the different tunings without buzz. This can drive people insane if a part they know VERY WELL keeps throwing out negatives when they KNOW they played it right. It works for most people and you can see tons of videos online where the bass detection works fine and dandy where your particular bass/game might be having issues. ![]() there are a great deal of threads that mention the lackluster note detection for Bass and some people are desperate for solutions. ![]()
